The Assay Office commissioned a britannia silver and 18ct gold jug with ebony handle for the Universities centenary celebrations
Lord Dainton, the Chancellor of the University later commissioned a bronze medal to celebrate the centenary of the sealing of the royal charter, joining three schools that became the university. The arrows are symbolic of Sheffield (Sheaf Field) forged on the anvil.
